Short term strategy vs Long term legacy

In business, especially when we’re first starting out, it’s easy to be in the default of making things work, doing our best to get clients, customers, revenue in the door… Maybe feeling like we are day to day, week to week, month to month, flying by the seat of our pants or just winging it. When this is the energy, the long term vision & impact you’re called to make can get lost in the wind, causing disempowerment and disillusionment that why you started this business in the first place doesn’t matter and it’s not going to work out.

Let’s shift that.

We want to hone focus on the long term success, strategy and impact of our business.

Short term wins are great and necessary, yes and –

you can position your short term strategy to feed and fuel your long term legacy.

In the beginning it may be hard to see long term. The fear of just “making it” clouds our ability to see beyond the now and into the possibility of a prosperous future. If you’re new/ish in business or in a place of stagnation and confusion – listen up:

You can build a long term legacy of impact & wealth incrementally by approaching your next 6-12 months with focused intention and deeply embodied trust.

Here’s how:

  • Look: Zoom up and see what you’re presently doing in your business and ask yourself: What’s the greater vision and outcome of these actions? How is what I’m currently doing serving me & my business in the next 6-12 months?
  • Ask: What can I let go of now so I can add more intentional movement and direction to fuel my long term plan? Consider all of what you’re spending time on now within the operations, delivery and outreach in your business and double check that it actually contributes to your longer term goals.
  • Plan: Create a 90 day plan (a lot can happen in 3 months!) that features one big project or milestone. Just one. And you break it down with monthly milestones, weekly incentives and daily actions. Perform weekly reviews and monthly check-ins so you’re constantly connected and in intentional alignment with your main goal. Implement a weekly planning hour and other time management systems that support you working ON your business rather than always just IN it.
  •  Support: Where do you need direction, guidance and support? Which areas do you feel stuck and/or are ready to grow into your next level? In business, you are your greatest asset, you are your #1 priority and client. Are you investing in your business through your own growth & development?

Which moves you’re making TODAY to get back on track with the legacy and impact you’re here to make?
